McCain banner ads
Is it just me, or did I see a McCain banner ad here.

McCain is officially senile if he is advertising here.

1. Quite possibly
DU hasn't control over the ads that show. Members (donators) can opt to not see ads.

3. mccain desparate
If i had to choose between mccain or rudy, i would have to go with rudy. No dem would support mccain, he can beat hillary.

Also, i think rudy would be a tool of the left if he were president - very socially liberal.

2. ads are triggered by key words in the generated page, as I understand it.
If a thread talks about McCain, his banners pop in. If it's about Coulter, ads for her book can show up too. I dont' think there's much point in getting upset about ads or seeing the name of someone who you disagree with.

4. Your Premise Is Faulty For Two Glaring Reasons:
1. McCain does not sit there all day explicitly picking which sites he wants to display ads. The placements are keyword based from google.

2. You were putting forth a concept that only Democrats come to this site. There are actually a ton of Republicans, Moderates or otherwise that lurk here.

6. queensryche is a great band
but i haven't seen other repugs ads here and it was startling. I think its just embarrassing if mccain has to advertise here - you can set the websites that you advertise on.

7. You Wouldn't See Them.
Some do join and post for all of 3 minutes before they're booted and a few hide amongst us posting as Liberals, but there are plenty who just come in to check out what's going on here and don't actually post. You wouldn't see them but there are definitely plenty of them lurking at any given time. You don't have to be a member to click on the ads.

As far as what sites to advertise on, this is a political site so it makes perfect sense that his advertisements would show up here. You have to remember; candidates want to be visible to as many people as possible engaged in politics regardless of current party affiliation. In addition, like stated above, any partisan political site is also bound to attract the attention of the other side, thereby still hitting a target audience.

And absolutely; Queensryche's a great band. :)

8. hillary
I think Hillary had posted some ads on RW sites.

It points that McCain is desparate now, he won't have the institutional support to climb back. Most FRers hate him, but they hate rudy and romney also.

There really is no FR consensus from what i've seen.

Rudy could beat Hillary, but i doubt conservatives will let him get the Nom. Rudy's not that bad imo, better than mccain or romney. I prefer edwards, but if Rudy beats hillary in the general, it could be worse.

I secretly think JEB is plotting a weak GOP candidate so he can run in 2012 for prez.

9. Rudy would be awful. A thin-skinned, nasty, street-smart version of Chimpy.
Look beyond the socially liberal stuff (that's how the GOP plans to fool Dems like you) and know that he is being groomed to continue Bush's War(s) of Terror, as well as appoint consevative justices to SCOTUS. You are being had. He would be WORSE than Bush.

11. Actually, I would prefer to be stuck with McCrazy
because deep, deep, down, underneath all of the ridiculous pandering and beating the war drum, "he" is still in there, somewhere--he had reason, honesty and integrity once, and gave it all up for his ambitions. If he were actually to win the big prize, he would do whatever the hell he wanted, and I don't think that would entail fulfilling a hard-right warmongering evangelical agenda. I just don't see that in him, for some reason. That's why the neocons still don't really trust him.
