Don't have time to search to see if this is a dupe; it requires immediate action.
Yesterday, 3/7, the New Mexico GOP state Senators, using the usual GOP tactics held a voice vote in an effort to defeat SJR 5, the impeachment resolution, without debate. New Mexico constituents please see <http://mothermedia.org/> for full details and contact your state Senator ASAP - particularly if he or she is one of the possible swing votes identified in the "Mother Media" alert.

"IMPEACHMENT RESOLUTION FAILS
Thursday, March 8th, 2007
Nine Senate Democrats joined with Republicans to keep a vote on SJR 5 off the Senate floor.

The vote was 26-13 to uphold Senate Majority Leader Ben Altamirano’s ruling yesterday. Altamirano ruled on a voice vote not to accept the committee report of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Dems voting to uphold the ruling include Senators Altamirano, Pete Campos, Carlos Cisneros, Phil Griego, Tim Jennings, John Pinto, John Arthur Smith, James Taylor and David Ulibarri."
