distorts and lies?

It is weak at best. In fact it was Hagel a conservative republican who made a stronger defense of Obama than most fellow Democrats

What have I missed?

1. Claire McCaskill defended him on Fox, but I didn't see it. Wes Clark was
on Verdict last night, and his defense was kinda...wimpy, IMO.

11. My issue is this: it's not just the quantity of Dem defenders, it's the quality--
Edited on Tue Jul-29-08 09:29 AM by wienerdoggie
whoever takes on the task needs to say that McDairy should apologize, should be ashamed for using wounded troops as a political football, that they don't recognize him any more as an honorable man for stooping this low and for outright lying. Hagel couldn't do that, he's still a Repub and McSausagehaus' friend, and really owes Obama nothing--but a Dem is SUPPOSED to be partisan, go over the top to make a soundbite. Not say, "well, I was disappointed...it's not a good ad..."

2. We DUers are much better at defending Obama
(or any other DEM for that matter) than the pathetic so-called "leaders". My anger at their weakness intensifies every day.

10. no question about it. Of course, Keith Oberman is one of the few exceptions
from the MSM who is more articulate

7. The only benefit of the doubt that I can think of is maybe they are waiting until
after the convention, but I don't see the wisdom in that

The media and the entire political establishment is against him.

16. No, he absolutely needs it. When you are being swiftboated, which is
what the GOP and the Pentagon are doing to Obama, you need all hands on deck, you need howling screech monkeys to sputter with outrage--that's the only way to combat this.

19. Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee launches......
TheRealFreedomsWatch.org

http://therealfreedomswatch.org/

HuffPo story about it here:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/07/31/freedoms-watch-opponents_n_115993.html

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is set to launch a website Thursday that will serve as a preemptive attack outlet against the right-wing advocacy group Freedom's Watch.

TheRealFreedomsWatch.org is tasked with exposing information on the well-funded conservative organization, which has connections both to the Bush administration and McCain campaign. The overarching purpose, it seems, will be to protect Democratic congressional candidates, who have increasingly found themselves targets of Freedom Watch's resources.

The effort reflects the recognition among many Democrats that outside groups, not the financially struggling Republican campaign committees, will pose a uniquely significant threat this election cycle. In addition to the launch of The Real Freedom's Watch, a prominent Democratic strategist told the Huffington Post that major progressive fundraisers are coming together around a separate entity to go after conservative 527s and their respect donors.
