bipolar as well. That's my guess after what I've heard about him. In the mental health profession, they call it "dual diagnosis."
Wonder what the story is about his discharge from the military?
Here's yet another article about him.

Court records detail troubled marriage, DUI

He's a hard-drinking, hate-filled loner with a string of
five busted marriages. He's moody and prone to slip into weeks of dark despair.
He was a very normal child; a Boy Scout, intelligent and an accomplished guitarist with a heart of gold.
Court records and interviews with a family member and friends give widely differing glimpses into the life of Jim David Adkisson.
Adkisson "disliked blacks, gays, anyone who was a different color or just different from him," said Carol Smallwood, who said she has known Adkisson for 25 years.
"He needed help a long time ago, but he never got it," said Smallwood, who now lives in Alice, Texas.
She said she helped move Adkisson's possessions out of the home he shared with Alexander after Adkisson held a gun to Alexander's head.
On Feb. 22, 2000, Alexander stated that Adkisson outlined options as their marriage unraveled midway through its ninth year.
"One of his options is to blow my brains out and then blow his own brains out," Alexander stated in an order of protection obtained March 1 of that year. ..Smallwood said that incident occurred after
Adkisson had been on an all-night drinking binge. After his last marriage fell apart, Adkisson "got on a motorcycle and went west," Smallwood said. She said she got to know Adkisson through her now ex-husband because the two men rode motorcycles together.
She described Adkisson as a "very accomplished guitarist who was just the life of the party."
"But then those dark periods would hit, and you didn't want to be around him. They would go on for weeks. Everything was negative. You couldn't talk him out of it."
Harriman resident Orman "Chip" Dunn said he grew up with Adkisson. He called him "a very normal child." Dunn said Adkisson was in Boy Scouts and graduated from Harriman High School in 1968.
Military records show Adkisson was a private in the U.S. Army from 1974 to 1980 and served as a helicopter repairman for the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell.
He was on active duty from 1974 to 1977…
Citing privacy issues, the military wouldn't release Adkisson's discharge status.…
