Who saw the Hairballz segment with Rothenberg and Cook talking about the Senate races?

They were talking about the races where, pretty much, the repubicans are getting their clockes cleaned ..... Sununu, the asshat who beat Heather the Cow for Domenici's seat, Gilmore trailing Warner by the biggest fucking number I've ever seen a Democrat over a repubican in Virginia.

Anyway, they both agreed that we could get to 58 seats if all the stars align and we toast the chicken bones before we crush them, scatter then, and do the incantations.

Then they mentioned guys like McConnell being, essentially, unbeatable.

I disagree.

Yeah, I think it will be a hard row to hoe, but I don't see 60 as impossible. The stars are most assuredly in the Blue Nebula this cycle. I mean, who among us saw us winning as many Senate seats as we did in 06? And the repubican brand is way worse off now than it was then.

All of this purports well for us.

Obama will have long coat tails. And, in some red states, the surging (<--- *good* use of the word) Democratic candidates will supply some coat tails to Obama. For example, Tim Kaine aside, I see Warmer leading the charge in Virginia and taking Obama to the top ..... a feat not done since 1960. I mean, Warner is up over Gilmore - also a former governor and on top of that a former RNC head - by margins that are so wide as to be almost incomprehensible. In Virginia, fer krissakes.

Look at New Mexico where poor HeatherCow will be sitting this one out. She was purported to be a lock on Speedy Pete's seat. Why didn't she win the primary? Cuz no sane repubicans even bothered to show up. the winner there was even farther out than she was. And that's saying something. Now he's trailing Udall by galactic margins.

Who ever would have predicted this even a year ago?

And those were just a few examples.

So don't tell me 60 is impossible.

Its hard, to be sure.

But impossible?

Nope. Not at all.

edit to fix really stupid typos in the thread title

1. If you can still edit,
Heather Wilson is from New Mexico, not AZ.
