Okay - Fantasy time - how would you celebrate a Bush and or Cheney Impeachment

Or criminal prosecution....

I know. I know. I am getting ahead of myself. But, after all the suffering these maniacs have inflicted, let's VISUALIZE the outcome.

What would you do?

Me. Probably wild sex with my husband and champagne. Then, a party with all my friends. Maybe, even fireworks!

1. A bottle of expensive champagne
which I will drink all of. And then run around in the street, laughing and singing.

7. I'd salute the flag
There's nothing to party about. They've harmed the nation in ways that will affect us for generation. Removing the heinous criminals from office would be a demonstration of a functioning democracy. That should be the norm, not some transitory aberration which requires a keggar.

10. I would go out
and tell everyone on the rooftop that Bush and Cheney are gone, I would buy a air horn and use it everywhere and to top it off I get some cold duck and play some Celebration.

Sounds like a good plan to you?

16. It would probably involve
alcohol (perhaps some local MD brews purchased from a local liquor store), posting like crazy on DU, watching MSNBC (what an episode of Countdown that would be! Not to mention TDS and TCR on Comedy Central!!!), and perhaps later, when I've sobered up, driving around blaring "Mosh", "American Idiot", and any other song I feel like blasting!

*wistful sigh*

18. Read somewhere that Lincoln requested The Battle Hymn of the Republic be played
when he was told of the surrender at Appomattox.

While I would like to think I would dance and pop champagne corks, my first impulse would likely be to stand and sing that battle hymn. I will have tears of relief and thanksgiving streaming down my face.

I will say prayers of thanksgiving and wish for blessings upon ALL the people who have had any part in turning this nation back from the course of destruction.

I will ask for strength and safety for all who are still in harm's way as we work to repair the damage and try, as a nation, to make amends to our people and the world.

I will look skyward and ask that Andy and Kef's souls share my relief and hope for the future. I will renew my pledge to the shade of Dr Franklin, to try and keep hold on the Republic he and the others gave us.

I will work a bit harder to teach the children well. They MUST know the value of democracy and understand they will have to shoulder the burden for its protection from all enemies, foreign and domestic, in their time.

Democracy is not a spectator sport. I will revel in that truth.
