we dont need impeachment.....
we need war crime tribunal.

I've got a feeling that the more the US courts let Bushco get away with, the more like the international courts will step in after Bush is out of office.

1. We need impeachment first
I'd rather the US rebuke them before the rest of the world does.
Will say a lot about OUR character, dontcha think?

8. Impeachment, prosecution, war crime tribunal
I just want the Dems to draw the line. It's time to bring down "He who must not be blamed" and his poppet, er puppet. At the very least the congress can start initiating bills that clean up the law on outing CIA agents and a whole slew of other laws they've weaseled around.

I'm wondering if the Dems think it's good to have them up there hanging on a rope as they slowly let the scandals drip-drip-drip. That way the Dems will sweep through in '08. The means justifying the end and all that. Hmm, where have I heard that strategy before?

6. The US courts would have to turn him OVER to international courts
there's the problem with that scenario.

7. no, actually not
US not a signatory but Iraq is. So a crime of war committed in Iraq after 2002 is eligible for trial in ICC.

The ICC is a court of last resort. It will not act if a case is investigated or prosecuted by a national judicial system unless the national proceedings are not genuine, for example if formal proceedings were undertaken solely to shield a person from criminal responsibility. (so shielding Bushco in the US or Iraq means that the 'national judicial system' proceedings were not genuine.

So in effect, the less effective the US/Iraq court system is in dealing with the crime, the more standing the ICC on the situation.

9. The ICC has no standing in the situation
if their verdict is unenforceable.
