http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/030907dnmetiraqmarch.2fd8bfb.html Several North Texas groups plan to mark the fourth anniversary of the Iraq invasion with a march for peace, near the rumored site of the future Bush presidential library at Southern Methodist University.
At least 10 groups are involved, according to march leaders. Beth Freed, a volunteer at the Dallas Peace Center, said the main purpose is to call for an end to the Iraq war. But she said marchers are also opposing the Bush library, and especially a related partisan think tank, that's probably coming to SMU.
On March 19, marchers plan to meet at the Mockingbird DART rail station. From there, they'll head west over Central Expressway and end at Potomac Park, a strip of parkland alongside SMU and behind Park Cities Plaza. Ms. Freed said she expects 50 to 350 participants.
"We are calling for the troops to come home, for Congress to stop funding the war," Ms. Freed said. She said they're stopping right by SMU because the future library site is a "meaningful symbol."
