Anybody know the Bush/UNICEF link?

Seems that Unicef is in the middle of a major human service upheaval in Guatemala, and the result might be the suspension of adoptions from that country. The Hague Treaty is a factor, but there is a bizzarre connection between the President of that country and Unicef that has made the situation appear very bleak. Add into that recent disclosures by one of the Bush daughters about having some involvement with Unicef and Central America and then I get really suspicious. Is Unicef on the up 'n up, and what are their political goals, if any?

2. For quite a while

there has been a huge problem with Guatemalan adoptions. Many people there feel that the children are being stolen, possibly for nefarious purposes. I have known people who have adopted from there who have had to be particularly careful in order to avoid confrontations when they are out in public with their adopted Guatemalan children.
