A question about "greymail" and Dusty Foggo. .
http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/politics/20070307-9999-1m7foggo.html

When the defense of Foggo and Wilkes is being constrained for National Security reasons, are they given all kinds of "get out of prosecution free" cards?

These are guys who should be going down in the Cunningham Corruption Circle. Is this ruling related to the firing of Prosecutor Lam? (She's one of the "Gonzales Eight")

1. I don't think that should prevent prosecution.
It's become standard practice for defense counsel to seek disclosure of classified materials in these cases, and just as common for courts to deny full access. This shouldn't be a successful appeal point.

As for greymail in this case, I'd say there may also be an element of blackmail: The indictment said Foggo corruptly used his position to steer classified contracts to his friend, Wilkes, who reciprocated with luxury vacations and pricey meals and gifts. The indictment also alleged that in the process, Foggo revealed classified secrets to Wilkes. Both men have pleaded not guilty and are free on bond.

2. Was Carol Lam working on this case?
I remember that there was some concern when she was dismissed that it would impact the prosecution of these two low-lifes.

3. I think this case was the reason for ALL the firings...

I think Carol Lam was the main target and the other firings went down to make it look like they weren't just going after her! I think they picked out the others, who had rubbed the Bush Gangsters the wrong way, or in one case, someone Karl wanted to fire in order to install his political friend in his place. I think it's all about stopping the Cunningham case from blowing the PokerGate scandal wide open.

5. The MZM-Cunningham case involves the funneling of foreign money to the GOP
Edited on Fri Mar-09-07 08:45 AM by leveymg
through a neocon controlled hedge fund, Cerberus Capital Management, that was dispersing money to a number of key GOP figures in various ways, including Bush, Rumsfeld, and a number of GOP Congressmen. The case is also tied up with the Walter Reed scandal, and the effort to privatize many Pentagon and CIA functions, which resulted in catastrophic failures at both. This is the BIG ONE.

7. The entire GOP is caught up in this
criminality. Do they really think they'll get away with it?

4. Yes. USA Lam was the prosecutor in the Wilkes-Cunningham case.
Caroline Lam was the US Attorney for San Diego, which is where MZM and the other related companies are located.
