Batshit crazy moonbat claims abortion has shrunk our military
Zell Miller: Abortion has shrunk our military, hurt social security, caused illegal immigration
Michael Roston
Published: Friday March 9, 2007

Zell Miller, the former Democratic Senator from Georgia who backed President George W. Bush in 2004 and spoke at the Republican National Convention, recently told an anti-abortion gathering that the "killing" of unborn babies was the cause of many of America's woes, including its military, social security, and immigration problems.

"How could this great land of plenty produce too few people in the last 30 years?" Miller asked. "Here is the brutal truth that no one dares to mention: We’re too few because too many of our babies have been killed."

Miller claimed that 45 million babies have been 'killed' since the Supreme Court decision on Roe v. Wade in 1973.

"If those 45 million children had lived, today they would be defending our country, they would be filling our jobs, they would be paying into Social Security," he asserted.

Anti-choicers want to "raise" children like farm animals so that they can be molested, used as slaves and cannon fodder, or the most exciting option is that if they are ineligible to serve because they are homosexual, lame or autistic they can always be molested and then eaten. Abortion simply damages their harvest....and how isn't it? We just past 300,000,000 the other day....and those 45,000,000 would mean that other babies would NOT have been born and those that were aborted would have been more on welfare than those that born because of the abortions.

14. I took a few seconds to figure the "logic" in this...
So, if we allow every male child to be born, and then raise and educate them to the age of 17-18, they can get killed/maimed in a war. Womens roles turned into sodier factories, the more they give birth, the better for the nation; military production must be maintained.

I guess this means that according to Zell, we are a quasiSpartan state. We keep only the most physicaly adept, turn them into soldiers, then when the time comes, their mother's send them off to either come back with their shields, or on them.

No more male scientists, or doctors, or teachers. No more male sociologists, psychologists or politicians. Nothing but soldiers for the glory of the state.

Talk about someone who lives in the distant past, and never has seen the light.

And no doubt these kids would have few options when they reached adulthood and many would go into the military.

So he wants the fetuses to live so they can grow to become cannon fodder to be killed? Odd.

21. are boys being born?
in Michael Moore's 'Stupid White Fellows' he mentioned, in a btw chapter, that apparently NONE of the women he heard about were having boys babies, it was all girls. And it seemed like that was happening everywhere, though the gov and pigmedia refused to mention it (he also mentioned that his brandnew car needed to be started up every few days, or it then need a new engine(?))
maybe zell's blaming abortion for what his pals in the chem/oil/pharma industries are in fact, doing!
in the local daycare centre, i notice outta about 30 kids only 4 or 5 are boys(!) seriously!
all jokes aside, it's been years since Mike's book came out, and noone says nothing about these issues (boyless earth and preprogrammed to self destruct cars)

I'm the only one I know having a girl.

My best friend just had a boy, a woman I work with just had a boy, a man I work with and his wife are expecting a boy, another woman I work with is expecting a boy. Another close friend just had a boy a year ago, etc.

Heck, I wanted another boy (I currently have a boy) because I hate pink and was such a tomboy growing up that I have absolutely no idea what to do with a girl - but I'm having a girl and I'm just about the only one I know.

Boys come when it's planned and girls come when it's a surprise, as a general rule and here's why: the Y sperm swim faster than the X sperm; therefore, if you're planning and taking your temperature and having sex during ovulation for the explicit purpose of baby-making, then chances are greater you're going to have a boy because the Y sperm are going to get to the egg faster. If, like my husband and me, you're (gasp! to the fundies!) having sex because you enjoy it and NOT planning a baby, you're more likely to have a girl because you have sex when you're not necessarily ovulating. Therefore, the slower, more sturdy X sperm have time to swim to the egg after the Y sperm have died out. This is NOT always the case, as nothing about baby-making is, but there is quite an argument in this favor.

Sorry for the anatomy lesson! LOL!

24. one less thing to worry about!
though what impact such a discrepancy would have can only be imagined, it's good news to hear the opposite of what Mike mentioned in his book (and the local daycare's weird preponderance of little girls) Strangely enough, the 'pickle', if you will, seemed kinda rotten anyway: male supremacy has been a fact since adam and steve..., er eve, and making more precious what has always been precious seemed cruel - too many little girls are in danger as is w/out making it worse (if the statistic was true) by devaluing them some more...i always thought boys were easier to create (uncle joe stalin thought so too; he saw that men were like weeds, the more torn up, or lost in battle, the more society sprouted! a million dead troops was less a loss then their rifles :)) then girls, so reading that in SWM struck a nerve...and you've restored the old 'men are like weeds' model status as before thanks

35. "For the 63d year in a row, the number of boys born in the United States outnumbers births of girls"
Since 1940, an average of 91,685 more male babies have been born each year than females, a total of 5,776,130 over that 63-year period.

The highest sex birth ratio occurred in 1946 (1,059 male births per 1,000 females) while the lowest occurred in 1991 and again in 2001 (1,046 male births per 1,000 females).
...
Combining all the years studied, older mothers (40 to 44 years of age and 45 years and over) have the lowest total sex birth ratios (1,038 and 1,039, respectively) and mothers 15 to 19 years of age had the highest sex birth ratio (1,054).

The more children a woman has the more likely she is going to give birth to an equal number of boys and girls.

http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/05facts/moreboys.htm

So for a whole country, it's actually pretty constant. The difference between the highest and lowest figures is fairly small.

28. It depends on who you know.
If your friends are established older people, they'll generally trend towards girls because maternal age, lower fertility and fertility treatment all result in more girls than boys because X chromosome gametes and female oocytes are both sturdier than male counterparts. Also, babies bought from China, a big trend these days among those who can afford it, are almost invariably female.

If your friends are younger, they'll more than likely trend toward boys, as younger women tend to conceive and birth boys in greater numbers, presumably because Y chromosome gametes are faster and the more hospitable conditions in younger women's reproductive tracts are less likely to cause somewhat more fragile male oocytes to expire.

40. Statistically, slightly more males are conceived than females.
There are slightly more male babies born than female babies. Males are slightly more likely to die than females throughout every stage of life, though, so the number of boys and girls evens out at some point in childhood. Then when you get to about age 50 or so, women start to outnumber men.

I thought for sure that when the blurb said he blamed illegal immigration on abortion rights he was going to claim that tons and tons of women from Latin American countries have "snuck across the border" in the last ten years in order to end their pregnancies or something. Damn us for having at least a few places where women can legally end pregnancy--we're luring the unwashes masses from other lands to our prosperous, heathen shores! But no--he said something even crazier. Ew.

26. Also from the article:
In regards to what made him switch from pro-choice to pro-birth:

"Many sources influenced his thinking. They range from the birth of his great-grandchildren, to Sean Hannity's apt comparison of Roe to Dred Scott, to Newsweek's cover of an unborn child, to two female college students who challenged him on the right-to-life, to signs carried by some women in the March for Life," he wrote.

So, let me understand this. Someone in his family had a baby, a right-wing hack made a pointless comparison, a magazine had a photo, two pro-birthers had an opinion and a protest sign.

I feel pretty secure in saying that perhaps our buddy here isn't quite up to the job if he makes his decisions on such flimsy foundations. Never mind the privacy issues, the science or the fact that the side of the aisles he's in bed with doesn't give two shits about these children after they are carried to term and born.

I have third-graders who stand on stronger reasons when they ask for a longer recess.

29. Zell Miller needs a reality check.
We're actually overpopulated with a job shortage in this country. If overpopulation wasn't a problem, we'd have single-payer, universal healthcare like the civilized countries have. Because there's such a huge pool of unemployed people, workers are considered disposable, and there's pretty much no management push for single-payer, as it's easy to replace employees who die due to lack of healthcare. So much for the alleged "pro-life" attitude of the republinazi party. :eyes:
