Some questions for anyone who know the lady (Tina) who confronted Congressman Obey
At least a couple of posters have said they know the person who confronted and filmed Congressman Obey. I'm curious about a few things.

1)Tina initially expressed to Obey that she was concerned about the lack of healthcare her son was getting via the military. Obey immediately offered to have her come in the office and sit down. That's a pretty big coup given that she showed up unannounced (or having only left poetry?) and not actually being a constituent of the Congressman. Why didn't she go in?

2) Why chose Obey (given his record and efforts opposing the war)? Obviously given the video camera and the immediate appearances on TV, she was looking to make news. Did they chose Obey because of his past history of losing his temper (instead of going after Russ Feingold who's less likely to lose his temper)? Or alternatively, did they chose Obey because of his position (Chairman of Appropriations) and his involvement in the intricacies of bills that could limit and ultimate extricate us from Iraq--despite Bush. In this case, they (Tina and the cameraman) were woefully unprepared to discuss such intricacies.

3)When you go to the youtube video, the headline above the video says, "Occupation Project/Congress DC Donations Needed to continue". Was this basically a fundraising stunt? or what was the whole point?

1. Obey is working very close with Pelosi--The Pelosi Plan (vs the Progressive

Plan--)---The progressive plan is the caucus that wants a much EARLIER withdrawal (basically the anti-war caucus of the House)

....2) Why chose Obey

2. He made pretty clear that he'd
end the war tomorrow if he had the votes. He doesn't have the votes. I guess if they had been willing to sit down with Obey, they could have talked about what it would take to get the votes, but they weren't willing to sit down.

3. The dog
Years ago a friend and I were in Obey's office and we had to share the sofa with the Congressman's dog, a red Irish setter type. The dog sat (lay) in the middle. I've always had a warm spot for a man who keeps his best friend close at hand. Obey notoriously has a short fuse and a hot temper but his heart is in the right place.
