After reading this story, there should be no doubt that they are getting ready 'to do Iran.'

The Larry Franklin passing of classified information to AIPAC officials, Michael Ledeen's role, and the creation of an Iranian Directorate at the Pentagon, all add up as this well written article sets out.

We will be lucky if we are still commiserating over Iraq next year this time, and not heavily involved in an armed conflict with Iran and Syria.

The part where the President confronts Ryan and tells him that the public won't accept another conspiracy that goes all the way to the top, that they won't believe it, and that Ryan should just take his chit and go home, just seems so appropriate now.

Congress' failure was allowing the AUMF resolution language with '...as he (Bush) determines...' language. This was unconstitutional and also a violation of the War Powers Resolution which required 'clear' (read truthful) 'situations' and 'circumstances' be presented to Congress before troops would be put into harm's way.

THis is being watched very carefully because we sold the Israelis 'bunkerbusting' bombs about a year ago. The Israelis are famous for taking US weapons systems and modifying them. (They used to buy our fighters, strip them of the protective skin to make them fly faster).

There is no doubt that if the US attacked Iran, one guaranteed response would be a retaliatory attack on Israel. So you have to guess that Israel will be in on the front end since the US will not be able to protect them after the deed is done. Besides, many reports say Israel is the force behind the attack pushing the US.

Congress needs to get to the bottom of this and fast. Bush is saying one thing and doing another, just like he always has done since taking office.

All this evidence is not new.

The march to the inevitable war is highly visible over "there" and and has been talked about over here for all these years without penetrating the fantastic lull that presumes there is some procedure, some "if", some drama, that must unfold before we even get worried about it. Desultory debate on the practicality of the criminal madness mostly seeps in at the corners even on DU. War protests still mean the last war against the entr'acte while the band plays on. The first crime, as per usual Rovish impunity, serves as a distraction away from its primary role as beachhead.

The Israelis fill their media with it. Inevitable. Soon. So too the Iranians and everyone else in that region. But our media spotlight our national consciousness is not so focused and thus not so aroused. No drama in the UN. No big MSM drumroll or collusion. Why bother? The phony war, like pre-blitz Paris or pre-shock-and-awe Baghdad, finds Americans picking away at untouched and obstinate nutball chickenhawk commanders over other things. Cronies and MSM have fled the scene. The dull show, barely interested in concealing itself even in the transparent fraud of last time, goes through the motions.

To some, this quiet signals the collapse of the war plan, so many heads replaced with smaller ones, so much intensity focused on reinforcements to Iraq. But the incompetent Chickenhawk in Chief and his Grey Eminence Chickenhawk still have the simple capability of ordering the pieces into action.

And they will. The Libby lawsuit. The debacles in Congress. The turning of the people. The disastrous consequences of the war. Reason itself(to idiots and the desperate what does THAT mean?), Nothing deters until some physical removal or draining of that capacity goes on.

All that Will Pitt said seems correct until one notices the war against Iran is unchecked and nothing yet has physically happened to change one single thing on the ground in the ME. If it all collapses suddenly, few in America will appreciate how close we were at this moment, how inevitable an AVOIDABLE slaughter was. If it doesn't none will know how everyone seemed to know this except the news starved parochial American public- made into and treated like the morons that the elite actually are.

All our arguments against the war and its results are the very reasons that keep Bush going. This is the typical reverse, criminal thinking of many RW perps since this nation began. can we please put them where they belong BEFORE more needless victims? Can we win one simple "NO" before they pull the trigger with our hijacked nation? Can we deny the lust of the A-bomb bullies and bury them along with the warheads in the dustbins of madness?

Bush can't go it alone with the decimated cronies he has if Cheney and his pirate crew vanish from the scene. The rapid appointment of Petraeus has done nothing except help and give the impression that control over the next war is completely unchallenged. The ships must be drawn back. There is NO immediate and conceivable threat that they need to address, no diplomatic effort or pressure they are sincerely part of. it is only for immediate war and everyone in the ME knows it. Pressure must be brought to bear somehow on Israel to withdraw from their grand collusion with the "plan". The MSM should be slapped along side its collective small head with a vengeance to wake them up. The same work done for minimum wage and the "splurge" has to immediately focus on the war work in progress.

Right now it is even a sorrier charade than last time, the nation drugged, in a mist of lies and distractions and the most incapacitating powerlessness regarding the future falling fast upon us.
