I LIKE Latino culture, but I'm too old, busy and lazy to learn Spanish. If they'd subtitled Univision and Telemundo in English, I'd watch it; the chicks on the telenovellas are HOT. Same thing with ESPN; I don't have a big problem with a Spanish segment, but I wish they'd accommodate the vast majority of their audience who don't speak Spanish.

12. Just to lighten things up a little, my grandaughter (aged 4) is just

about fluent in Spanish to my shock, dismay and pleasure. Seems she has a little friend she loves to play with and has a grandmother living with them. Kim likes to hang out in their kitchen "'cause it always smells so good." Grandmother was a teacher back in the day, noticed Kim had an ear for the language, and told my son, if she's going to learn Spanish, she's going to learn to speak it correctly. Needless to say our family is thrilled, another advantage taken in our multi-cultural world. Much like Italian, the Spanish language is quite prevalent in our English if we just look at root words. Don't fight it, join it, Kim now has her "spot" in the family as a "teacher" to the rest of us and loves to be the translator...
