Did everyone's computer advance to DST okay?
My Apple went from 1:59 to 3:00 with no problem except I've suddenly become sleepy thinking about the time.

1. Still a couple of hours to go here on the left coast.
I downloaded the update on my Mac, so I'm not anticipating any problems. Can't say that for the rest of the clocks in the house.

7. I didn't do anything. The Apple just did it own it's own.
I think Tiger was already programmed for the DST change.

9. Apple put the DST update for Tiger on Software Update...
...back in January (at least that's when my Mac got it). I don't allow updates to install without my approval, so I can see what's being fixed (yes, I'm geeky as they come), so I noticed when the patch came in.

12. That's interesting.

If it's in there, I wonder why Apple posted it again in January? Maybe they were just trying to get it onto those machines that didn't already have it. I'm on 10.4.8, though, so if it was on 10.4.7, it should surely be on there too.

edit: I just checked Apple's website, and the DST update was posted on Feb 15. Hmmm...

That came from a poster on the Tiger forum.

the "fix" was included in one of their security updates. No one knew about it of course, but it was there. Imagine, Microsoft doing something on their own to keep people from having problems. ;)

we're in Hawaii, so I woke up my wife, like a dummy, and said, "Gee, don't we have to worry about setting all the clocks and computers?"

She said, 'The only thing we have to worry about is that the real world is going to be another Hour AHEAD of us.." :)

It's a bitch when you stay up all night working on a project for nearly a year, getting only about four hours of sleep a night, sleeping in until Noon here, before I do another 20 hours of awake/work time, and then when I'm just about ready to promote the project, I'll have to worry about getting up at 6 am, or staying up until all hours of the night to even Talk on an 8 am radio show on the east coast.. :)

Such is the price we pay for paradise, eh? :)

I'm still waiting to see if my computer does something wacky...

36. Nope. I told my computer to ignore this stupid time change.
My windoze machine stays on CST all the time. It works just fine for a XP machine.
So does every other clock in my home, including my Atomic Clock. I never reset my clocks. I just reset the alarm an hour earlier, which is the reality anyway.
My Linux machine on the other hand, I had to reset back to CST. I could find nothing to tell it to ignore the time change.

...and when I tried to manually download the timezone patch yesterday, Microsoft told me it was already installed.

How ridiculous is that...

Everytime I tried to use the time synch in Linux this morning, the hour rolls back. And after trying about six or seven different servers, I gave up.

So I just disabled it and changed the time manually. I'll probably synch up again when the time change traditionally starts.

I tried to get the patch, but didn't want to download the fucking Service Pack 2 to do it.

I had to manually change it. And will have to manually change it back when it advances when it was originally scheduled.

I tried the Service Pack 2 once and I couldn't go anywhere online and didn't want to spend hours and hours telling it that everything was NOT a demon site. So, I went back in time and deleted the Service Pack 2.

However, considering it only took like, two seconds, I'm not worried about it too much.

They're automatically set to get the correct time from the pool.ntp.org time servers, so they're the most accurate clocks in the house.

And yes, they know about the DST change.

My alarm clock, which theoretically should automatically adjust itself for the DST change didn't, so I had to manually set its time zone to one zone over. I'll have to set it again in 3 weeks when it thinks it's time to switch to DST.
