1. As a former Edwards supporter..
I say, suck it up. If you lied, you lied. The truth will set you free.

3. This is kind of similar to outing gay politicians
it's appropriate when, and only when, the politician in question supports anti-gay legislation, thus becoming a hypocrite.

Same deal with Palin. If Ms. Family Values' teenage daughter turns out to have been pregnant, "out of wedlock" as they say, it's news. Play ball!

4. How about it's a question of character
Yes, every family goes through difficult times and we ought to respond with compassion. HOWEVER, if this is an ongoing lie about something as basic as who is actually her child and who isn't, of course it should be open for discussion.

5. I used to think that family stuff was off-limits...
but after Monica and now the Edwards stuff, I say go for it.

7. They can do whatever they want in their own families
but let one of our youngsters get pregnant and it is all over. Shooter got to welcome his little grandson even though he has two mommies. The rest of us should not have that same luxury. Go figure.

8. I've already used up my "horribly unpopular posts" for the week but
isn't a matter of context?

Instead of two thousand posts prying into this woman's personal life and physical appearance, shouldn't it be kept on the level of character if this is about character? Or, about hypocrisy if this is really about hypocrisy? There is a way to talk about those things without sounding like a straight import from freakerville, imho.

9. #1: She has made other women's pregnancies the business of
the government/public, so hers are fair game too.
