Why is the Rush Limbaugh Show not considered Propaganda?
If it is considered Propaganda why is it allowed to be aired over our military channels? Why do we allow our military to be fed a daily diet of Propaganda. How can that possibly be beneficial to America? IMO if Limbaugh meets the legal and technical definition of Propaganda then it should be removed from Armed Forces Radio..

1. Because it's considered entertainment, as is Ed Schultz, whose show is also
carried on Armed Forces Radio.

2. It's allowed because it's their propaganda.
The right wing considers itself "mainstream". Therefore, Rush Limbaugh is a "mainstream" talk show host.

5. Of course he spouts propaganda.
Our mistake is to think that "they" think propaganda is bad. All I can gather from "their" perspective is that Soviet styled propaganda has become useful in the "war against terrorism;" though I happen to think it's a war against We, the People.

Do you, do any of us, think that the Soviet leadership thought propaganda was bad? Of course they didn't. It was a tool in their arsenal against the people. The same with the Nazi party in Germany in the days leading up to what would become the Holocaust.

Of course we think propaganda is bad. But to our "leaders," it's just another effective tool to control the masses.

See historical uses in the U.S. of effective propaganda. The "Rosie the Riveter" campaign developed and paid for by the U.S. government. After the end of WWII, various effective marketing campaigns to "convince" women to return to their homes and become "good little consumers." Some government sponsored, some implemented by the manufacturers of the products being sold. The fact that business interests dovetailed with government interests was just a fortuitous (for them) coincidence and is what led to the toxic combination of business/government relationships we see today.

I think it's in our best interests to understand that our "leaders" don't give a rat's backside about We, the People and to remember that for their purposes, propaganda is an effective and useful tool.

6. I don't think anyone truly believes it is not
they play the "it's entertainment" game to deflect criticism.

It is pure propaganda.

7. Many years ago I was speaking to one of my friend's father...
He was a Rabbi, and knew quite a bit about people in general. One of the things he said was, "if a person expounds upon something, and especially if the are calling for some form of "sacrifice" but show no sacrifice themselves; beware, for they are they are the lowest of the low, they are hypcrites."

He went on with some other examples, from religion and society, oddly, he said the nazis were no exactly hypocrites from some points of view, they had said what they would do, but people found it too outlandish to believe he and his minions would follow through.

Limbaugh and his like have sacrificed nothing, and yet they demand sacrifice of others in this nation to bring about nothing more than more bloodshed and suffering, without the spine to fight their war themselves. They enjoy suffering, so they will push hard for it, as long as it is not their own.

8. Practically everything is propaganda
The only question is who's propaganda and who has access to it.
