This is an obvious false pairing of these two words.
While the term was designed to strike up emotions it has nothing to do with logic.

Fundamentalist Islam advocates the merger of religious interests and State, therefore the accurate term would be 'Islamo-Theocrats'.

Fascism advocates the merger of corporate interests and State, therefore the term 'Islamo-Fascist' is nonsensical.
In fact, is 'Islamo' even a word at all?

what is interesting is that in Islam, usury, the charging of interest on loans, is forbidden. That is why I laugh when I think of "Islamic fascists"--how could big business exist without usury?
