What disturbs me watching CNN
Here you have a story of one of the many horrors going on around the globe as well as here in the US and then the commercial comes on showing the great life and people in the beautiful homes and a family all smiles , life is wonderful , IF ?

It is so damn depressing looking at this surreal sort of reality .

1. I think the most horrifying is this show called "This Week In War"
I mean, damn. That's just fucked up on a lot of different levels.

I never watch ANY of the 24/7 news channels, but whenever I stand in line to get coffee at Dunkin' Donuts, as I did this morning, I always stare at the news channel and die a little inside.

3. That's what was on This week in WAR !
I see and know about the horrors but when they get the commercials going it just makes everything all the more surreal for me . I can't grab the remote fast enough .

Perhaps I dwell on the real horrors too much but how can I ever get them out of my mind .

I just have this deep gut feeling no matter what we will be in Iraq for many years to come .

2. people are deluded...
...into thinking everything is swell because its so easy.
Its easy to deny misery far away.
Its easy to just sucked into the daily routine and never even consider such weighty matters.
Its easy to fill all your time and energy just to provide for your family.
I can't do anything about Iraq but I can make this months mortgage payment.
I can teach my kids values to live by as those same values seem hopelessly out of fashion.

So take it easy on ordinary folks who may appear dis-interested.Its easy.

5. All Tv is bad for the brain these days unfortunately.
It amazes me to see the "Discovery" channel glamorizing weapons and weapons systems. What an amazing discovery! The mighty dollar has done our nation no favors. We now have a nation of dumbed down warmongers who can't get off the sofa to bother to save their government or stop an illegal/immoral war. Thanks big media! You've screwed us all.
