The fires used to really kick up around July and peak during the Santa Anas in October, and here it is, early March and we've got a big 'un brewing in Anaheim Hills. Gusts of 21-35 (occasionally 50 ) mph winds and bone dry chapparal.

we probably will get very little rain from here on out, so it's gonna be a long HOT summer out here.

Climate change...even a LITTLE bit (it's always hotter here than most places) can make a big financial difference.

The houses in Anaheim Hills are very pricey, even for CA, so there go the insurance rates again.. These people are not the "daredevils' who built in remote canyons.. Anaheim Hills is right next to major freeways, and is quite urban in parts.

It's in the 90's today, and I feel so sorry for the firefighters in all their heavy gear, having to fight these fires .. They earn every penny they make.

300 Acre Fire Scorches Orange County

Mar. 11 - Authorities evacuated at least 100 homes as a fast-moving brush fire scorched 300 acres of parched hillside Sunday and crept into backyards, Orange County fire officials said.
The fire, stoked by hot dry winds and fueled by dry chaparral, quickly doubled in size in an unincorporated part of Orange County and threatened homes here and in Anaheim Hills.

"There is a lot of fire personnel out there and they are doing the best they can, but the weather is not in their favor," said Lynnette Round, an Orange County Fire Authority spokeswoman.

Steven Miller, another Orange County Fire Authority spokesman, said winds blowing up to 35 mph are making firefighting difficult for the more than 200 firefighters on the scene.

7. We had a brushfire here in the middle of town & they were on it quickly.
There was ground response while it was still under an acre:

4.  Last summer was the hottest I recall In LA..
Lately we have had a day of drizzle then the winds would kick up and blow in great gusts . One week we have 80's for a day then it goes to a week of mid 60's .

Now we are in for a hot week in the begining of march . They say global warming does not exist .

I prefer the cooler days and cold nights and some clouds in the sky .

I want to get the hell out of LA .
