Dem State Legislatures: Is Dubai-Based Halliburton a State Contractor? Preference for US-Based Firms
Besides asking Chairman Waxman to act at the Federal level, state legislatures can build in contracting preferences at the state level too: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=388886&mesg_id=388886

Ditto for major municipalities.

Halliburton and/or KBR do significant road work, prison building, and other civil engineering projects in many states.

It's fairly easy to learn how to look up major contract awards through your state's procurement office:

Best,

- Dave

P.S. Local media may be interested in this, too.

4. They don't have to pay any taxes on employees or profits in Dubai...
According to NPR this morning. Not enough money in their pockets yet it seems... Their souls are already sold, so why not move the headquarters over. They will still have a large presence here in Houston, but the CEO is going overseas...
