Pastor Arrest on Molestation Charges - thought he could get away, front license plate read 'Jesus'

Pastor Jailed in Library Molestation

Sacramento Pastor Arrest on Molestation Charges

A Sacramento pastor was arrested and faces sexual assault charges in connection with the molestation of a 13-year-old boy in a city library bathroom Thursday, Sacramento Police officials said.

Frederick Dew, 34, was arrested Friday and booked into the Sacramento County jail for sexual assault on a child and false imprisonment, Sacramento Police spokesman Matt Young said.

Dew is a pastor at Praise Tabernacle on 44th Street in south Sacramento.

The incident allegedly took place Thursday afternoon at the Martin Luther King Jr. Library on 24th Street.

According to investigators, a 13-year-old boy went to use the restroom, found Dew inside and was sexually molested.

...

"He thought he could get away because I was unable to detect his license plate from the front. He had 'Jesus' written on it in red capital letters," Wright said. "So my other partner saw what was happening and moved down and picked (the plate number) up from the back."

It just sounds a bit surreal - A pastor, Jesus plate, MLK Jr. Library, 'praise tabernacle'...

2. I'm with you on that
Christian myself, non-denom. People like this - whether a pastor or individual not affiliated with any faith - make me sick. I find it especially so though when someone, like a pastor, who preaches against such things and believes it to be sinful goes out and betrays the trust they have been given.

4. Sad thing is, selfish bastards like the pastor don't seem to care about the long term hell
they impose on those they molest (of any age of course, but more so the younger among us).

I was molested at around that age, and it played a negative part in my life for some time.

6. The ministry
sadly enough, is an attractive profession for those who wish to molest children, because ministers are put into positions of trust. And, unlike other professions, such as pre-school teachers, there is no required background check for priors.

7. They just let pastors in without screening them or something?
I guess they don't read the newspapers there at the library. The license plate could have been a clue in advance. 20/20 hindsight!
