got together with my in-laws on Sunday
As some here know, Ms Uly's family is very economically conservative (raving anti-tax zealots) and somewhat less socially conservative (not particularly religious in the immediate family, abortion doesn't tend to come up, but not favorable to gays or folks of color). You can imagine what family gatherings are like.

So, politics came up, of course. Terry, the youngest brother and Limbaugh fan of many years, has now morphed into a "Washington is broken" anti-incumbent who claimed to be willing to vote for an Obama/Palin ticket if such arose. Right. Tony, the oldest brother and the one with the biggest race issues, announced that we were going to have a black man for President. Ms Uly's mom announced that she would probably vote for whoever was behind, thus showing that not *everyone* was behind that candidate (translation: she hasn't voted for a Democrat for President in decades, even though she supposedly is one, and isn't about to start now). And there discussion of politics largely ended.

I think we're going to win...but we'd better be ready thirty seconds after Obama is sworn in to get back on it if we expect the new administration to achieve anything.

3. They are everywhere. My sister-in-law told how she was in a
hail storm in WalMart parking lot and she prayed that it would stop long enough for her to get inside, and blessed jesus her prayer was answered. And then said "how god is that!"
