If Palin would just stick to promoting herself and McCain she might get a pass from those 'swing' voters McCain actually needs . . . those voters who aren't as into stroking the right-wing of the republican party as Palin has been.

To play the devil's advocate here: she was a local news anchor woman, so she knows how to read a teleprompter, and probably pretty well since she can win elections and keep an 80% approval rating. Whether they wrote her a good speech or not is another story. Judging from what I've heard so far, all she'll say is 9/11, Obama Bad, Liberal Media. Hopefully the Democratic leadership and pundits will do a good job pointing out the lack of substance.
