Incoming comments about Palin's speech...here!

Cheap shots—and not even ones she crafted on her own! Palin looked like a wind-up doll reading someone else's words, lauding the character of a man she barely knows and talking about subjects she had to be drilled on like Eliza Doolittle in "My Fair Lady." And when she and other Republicans talk about the rural folks living in small towns, anyone else notice that they're always in middle America and not the ones in the South? I love the idea of having gender and racial diversity on the ticket, but as a woman I'd rather not have the female member of the ticket look and sound like a smarmy Gidget.

1. I think the speech may come down to being an eloquent 30 minutes loaded with lies.
Move over Condaleeza.

2. My own view
My view is that she did deliver this speech very well. I wanted to her to fail, but she rose to the occasion and hammered the speech home. Unfortunately, it was mean-spirited, demeaning, and filled with lies that have already been exposed by many. I also like the meme that this was both a sarcastic and highly cynical speech. If this had been just a normal keynote -- like Barack in 2004 -- she would be a rising star and have the chance to manage any future vetting. Instead, she's likely to be dead meat -- like the red meat she threw out at the Rethugs tonight. The Demos have to be somewhat careful that they don't create yet another backlash of sympathy.
