Kristol: If Bush does not pardon Libby he "will pay a big price over the next year."

http://www.usnews.com/usnews/politics/bulletin/bulletin_070312.htm

<snip>

The Weekly Standard's Bill Kristol, on Fox News Sunday, said pardoning Libby is "the right thing to do, but also it's in the president's interest." Kristol added that if the president does not pardon Libby he "will pay a big price over the next year."

1. Scooter won't vote for him?
Oh, wait: {1} Bush ain't running for office again; and {2} Libby is a convicted felon, and won't be voting for anyone.

7. it's going to be funny watching the puppetmasters discover the strings are cut
on theirmurderous knife wielding little puppet over the next 2 years. Let's see them try to control him if he doesn't want what they want.

30. Bill Kristol is a lot like Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh.
But we think he's bigger and more important because he co-wrote and signed the PNAC doctrine. On screen, he's just a wannabe Coulter.

PNAC's puppet.

4. Oh Yes
Kristol has been right about so many things. Maybe he's now hinting that if * doesn't pardon the Liar that Kristol won't endorse him for re-election. Or is Kristol planning on outing him, as the worst occupant of the WH ever?

bush would certainly pay for that. I'd rather krystol join the army and take his bad ass to Baghdad and fix things as only he can.

8. Fuck that, the Repuke Party is gonna pay big-time in 2008. . .
whether or not Scooter is pardoned. Bush & Cheney have put the 'Pukes's collective dick in a cleft stick.

It's gonna suck to be a Republican these next few years.

22. Absolutely.
Before Scooter does any time in the slammer he'll rat out Cheney & Bush. That's why they're trying to make it seem like there's some sort of public ground swell for a pardon. They have to pardon him for their own sake or he'll blow the top off this scandal.

14. What can they possibly threaten * with, what harm can they inflict now
that would somehow force * to pardon Libby?

Is this a "real" threat from the PNAC group (and if so, what potentially malicious information will they dredge up from Bush's hidden past to bludgeon him into submission)?

Or is this just rhetoric, hot air and bluff?

15. Speaking strictly for myself, I think it's time Bill Kristol was packed
up and launched into deep space. Tomorrow afternoon at the latest.

He's a treasonous instigator and should never be asked onto any news program ever again.

23. Hi, jail_them. Welcome to DU. Well, call me old-fashioned, but
I prefer the pageantry of the rocket ship and the huge crowd in shorts and sunglasses for a several-hour celebration culminating with the launch itself.

And let's have Kristol's magazine bankroll the whole deal.

17. Wanted to know what big price he was thinking of, but there's nothing further in the story
I guess Kristol's "Big Price" idea is kind of like WMDs: if he, William Kristol, says they are there, they must be there. Were it otherwise, why would he say they were there?

Well, Mr. President you better act on this "Big Price" warning toot-sweet, or you could find yourself mired in a very costly mistake, like in Iraq when you ignored those warnings of WMDs from boy genius William Kristol. You don't want a repeat of that do you? Pardon Libby and soon.

26. Was that a threat? Anybody notify the Secret Service?
It's not really necessary anyway because, after all, to keep the "zero-year election curse" in place, * won't finish his term - St. Ronnie's Alzheimer's qualifies him as being struck down during his term, even though he physically survived it, so I think the curse is still in effect.

OTOH, if you were brain-dead before being elected in the first place...

Nothing, and I do mean NOTHING would be more likely to throw gasoline on the smoldering remains of WH credibility.

A pardon would guarantee a Non-republican candidate wins in 2008.

Now if he pardons Libby he will pay a price, and prove once and for all that Pubies are not on the side of the Constitution

Perhaps more and more Ameircans will come to their senses and keep pubies out of power even longer
