A letter I sent to Tim Darnell of the Southern Report who appeared on CSPAN yesterday.

I sent this letter to Tim Darnell the online editor of the Southern Report who appeared on CSPAN Washington Journal Sunday March 11, 2007. I did not get to call into Washington Journal. I especially wanted to disabuse him of the myth that the REPUBLIKLAN party appears the party of national defense and national security.

By the way, the CEO of CSPAN, Brian Lamb should get elected to the Broadcasting Hall of Fame for his work for the last 29 years with CSPAN. Please write to him and tell him so.



Hello Mr. Darnell

I saw you on CSPAN this morning and I wanted to comment especially about so called conservatives in the South. I realize that millions of good people live in the South but the REPUBLIKLAN party in this century and the 20th century appears the locus of the political offspring of the conservative confederates in the South. I refer to those holding notions of slaveholding and economic exploitation, moral authoritarianism and hypocrisy. To me, George W Bush, a Connecticut Yankee in Jefferson Davis's Court appears the THIRD President of the Confederacy. Ever since the 1960's when President Johnson signed the civil rights laws, which I consider a good action to take, the Confederacy has risen again and runs this country.

You mentioned strength on National Security and National Defense. The REPUBLIKLAN Party has never demonstrated their strength on national defense and national security. Look at 9-11. The 9-11 attacks happened under a REPUBLIKLAN administration. Only the REPUBLIKLAN party has actually demonstrated their weakness on national defense and national security the moment the planes hit the world trade center and the Pentagone. The leaders of REPUBLIKLAN party love to talk tough especially in election campaigns but their record on national defense and national security reeks of failure and 9-11 appears their crown jewel of failure.

Now I want to address capitalism. I consider capitalism the best system of creating products and services so far in world history, but the way the REPUBLIKLAN Party members and leaders practice capitalism appears a violation of human decency and rights. Again the members and leaders of the REPUBLIKLAN party haven't grown up past the 1920's where regulation of capitalism appeared needed. Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Theodore Roosevelt, 2 progressives saved this country and the capitalist system by regulating capitalism and using government to help people who needed help. Somewhat like driving a car, it depends on how you drive a car. The members of the REPUBLIKLAN Party want to "drive the car" without regulation and consideration for other people.

For the last 30 years The REPUBLIKAN Party has gotten more aggressive in their actions to destroy the progress of the New Deal and the Great Society programs.

As far as Christianity of these so called Southern Conservative Christians, I do not consider most of these people Christians whatsoever. These people revere Ayn Rand, Tomas de Torquemada and Ebeneezer Scrooge. I hear lot of these religiosos say and make excuses that "Oh Jesus never meant for government to help the poor". Well I say that since government reflects the will of the people more or less through elections and congress, that at least 49 million people who work and pay taxes and voted against the CHIMP in the White House George W Bush in 2004 the election that the REPUBLIKLAN Party stole.

A lot of the statements that leaders of the REPUBKLIKLAN Party make in order to hector others in election campaigns not only do these hypocritical leaders not live up to, but they only set up these standards for others and not themselves.

The modern day REPUBLIKLAN party would bring back slavery if they could get away with it.
