It's not that hard to see how the lessons of Thermopylae apply to our century. I'm sure an Iraqi insurgent would take the only clear lesson from this movie. Sacrifice, honor, the noble valor of resisting the numberless powers of a global empire for the cause of one's country, even when some elements in your society are going soft and losing their manful purity.

4. It's based on a comic book folks

a pre-9/11 comic I might add and according to the director a pretty faithful adaptation of said comic book. That being said, take from it what you will. I'm hoping to see it soon mostly for green screeny sepcial effects yumminess. MMM MMM good.

5. I NEED to see it!

After 6 years of this Admin, I NEED to see some leaders in the frontlines when the fighting starts! If only the cowards in DC would! They don't even have anyone in their families in harms way.
Maybe we need a law that if you want to start a pre-emptive war, you, your admin., and your family are in the frontlines leading the charge. If you don't believe that strongly in it, you don't get the powers to declare it.
