Bush Sr. Hospitalized After Collapse
HOUSTON — Former President George H.W. Bush was treated at a California hospital for dehydration and released Monday morning after collapsing during a Sunday afternoon golf game in Palm Springs.

Jean Becker, Bush's chief of staff, told The Associated Press that Bush fainted while playing golf with friends in 94-degree heat.

"He's fine, he really is fine," Becker said. "He became dehydrated, and he had a fainting spell. He came to right away, but as a precaution, they took him to the hospital and then _ much to his dismay _ as a precaution, they held him overnight. The doctors released him first thing this morning."

Bush, 82, and former first lady Barbara Bush were in California visiting Lee Annenberg, a family friend.

3. 82 & doesn't know to stay hydrated
when your entire raison d'etre is power, it doesn't leave much time for the basics - how not to pass out in the heat, how to stay out of the sun, how to parent children so they don't grow up to start clusterfuck wars that impoverish our nation and kill hundreds of thousands for nothing.

just golf & scheming.

24. It's a common problem with older people
I have a lot of elderly relatives and hydration is a real concern--they don't always realize when they're thirsty. And Bush the Smarter is, after all, in his 80s.

17. are you kidding???
it'd be better than the ten days of christmas.
On the first day of funeral coverage, my true love gave to me...
- a copy of the Constitution.
On the second day of funeral coverage, my true love gave to me...
- two bottles of rum, and a copy of the Constitution.

his handlers would be on top of something so basic.

13. Good Thing He Can Pay
I bear no ill will towards any of the Bush clan. I am glad he got the treatment he needed. It's probably just as well the hospital played it "safe"

But, if this had been some anonymous 82 year old farm worker who collapsed after picking lettuce, do you think he would have been kept overnight in the hospital?

Two Americas, my friends.

26. OMG I was right, lol! On another thread about this I speculated
that he was playing golf in the heat this weekend and that's what did it.

Lo, and behold!

Dumbass doesn't know to stay out of the 100+ heat at his age. It was fierce yesterday even here in the Valley. Today's even worse.

28. Who were these "friends" he was golfing with?
the same types of "friends" that go hunting with Dick Cheney?

Didn't his s.s. contingent suggest to him that it wasn't a good idea to be out golfing in 94 degree heat with insufficient water intake?

Poppy either has a death wish, or the ignorant cretin thinks he can defy death, I can't decide which.
