What Should Bush and Cheney be Impeached for?
Snagging and posting this question from Buzzflash:

http://www.buzzflash.com/articles/alerts/198

On Sunday, March 11, Senator Chuck Schumer called for the Bush consiglieri, Alberto Gonzales, to step down as attorney general.

We're all for that.

In fact we were pleasantly surprised to see that the New York Times -- in an editorial the other day -- actually picked up on our use of consiglieri to identify Gonzales. Yes, the NYT called him the Bush consiglieri too!

But, if Gonzales leaves (as he should), we still have Godfather Dick Cheney in power and his son, Fredo, George W. Bush. That's a problem, a big, big problem.

Schumer cited ProsecutorGate and the FBI's unlawful use of the UnPatriot Act/Gate, among other injustices, as reasons for Alberto to resign. But Alberto is just doing the bidding of the heads of the crime family.

So if Gonzales needs to go, you can't rid the nation of a brain tumor by cutting off its arm, right?

Here's our question to BuzzFlash readers.

If there are ample reasons for Gonzales to resign, let us count the reasons that Bush and Cheney should be impeached or forced to resign.

4. Abrogation of the Geneva Conventions
That's really the one that should do it. The country lost its soul when they did that one.

Somewhat related in the sense of "The Right to Disappear" anyone who Schimpanski disagreed with.

5. Consensual sex.
Oh wait. :eyes:

They should be impeached for everything they've done because otherwise they "get away" with all the high crimes that aren't specifically listed in the impeachment articles.

Should not:

Their mommy's love them and don't want their baby's hurt.

edited to add:
Their stockbrokers love them too.

followed by an execution. I am anti death penaly in all but one instance- treason. I knew that if I violated the rules, I would be held accountable and they both know as well.

far their PNAC agenda has gone, in 6 years, what is wrong with people, to let these thugs stay in office, they are criminals, isn't that saying still hold true anymore??? CRIME DOES NOT PAY, quite laughable isn't it??

10. Let's first "paint with a broad brush"...
They should be impeached for...
... knowingly,
... willingly
... and systematically
... putting the Republic (which they swore to protect) in danger.

(And that's just the preamble.)

15. If we wanted to start small
Nearly running down the press with heavy construction equipment and shooting a guy in the face could be the dangerous ground. Dick's involvement in the plame case and the knowledge that case ushered would be lying to the american people of his knowledge and involvement, which clinton pretty much did (though I don't know if that would count as lying to a judge, as he lied but I don't know if it would count because it was just called up in a seperate court case). Vegetable matter would definitely go down for lying about the WMDs and foreknowledge of 9/11.

For the slaying spikes, hurricane katrina all the way for * and for dick? Treason I think works best for him. Dick's involvement in the torture scandals would be a nasty 3rd degree burn though, too.

17. Wouldn't Be Treason...But It Could Be..."High Crimes and Misdemeanors"
In the US, we don't even really USE the term High Crimes. It derived from English parliamentary law and practice...and the Founding Fathers intended that interpretation to manifest in our Constitution.

"Two points emerge from the 400 years of English parliamentary experience with the phrase "high Crimea and Misdemeanors." First, the particular allegations of misconduct alleged damage to the state in such forms as misapplication of funds, abuse of official power, neglect of duty, encroachment on Parliament's prerogatives, corruption, and betrayal of trust. Second, the phrase "high Crimes and Misdemeanors" was confined to parliamentary impeachments; it had no roots in the ordinary criminal law..."

http://www.cftech.com/BrainBank/SPECIALREPORTS/impeachment.html

So the offenses you DU'ers have delineated, in sum, would comprise a High Crime...no doubt about it.

So when can we begin?
