Teacher Loses Job For Going 'Full Monty'

ENGLEWOOD, Fla. -- A high school music teacher would rather lose his job than stop taking off his clothes in the musical "The Full Monty" at the Venice Little Theater.

Jason Brenner is in his third year as a part-time music teacher at Lemon Bay High School in Englewood. He says school administrators gave him a letter last week telling him to stop appearing naked in the show or to turn in his resignation.

A school district spokesman said teachers are held to a higher moral standard because they work with children.

Brenner performed after receiving the letter and has since been placed on a leave of absence until he officially resigns. He said he wants to pursue work as a musical director, vocal coach and performer.
