Candidly Buchanan's is right up there with our Village Idiot's voice its like nails on the Blackboard and I change the channel. I suffered through it tonight - by never again - I will change the channel if he is on again.

It would be silly if she only had on people all the time that prop up a certain view. Pat is allowed to spout off, but he also has to sit there and take it- he can't interrupt and shout down like he can on other shows.

In a weird love/hate kind of mutual fascination/revulsion way. She calls him her "fake Uncle", and not without affection.

She's a patriot who holds dear the tenet that open discussion is an essential pillar of democracy - rational debate being one of the truest civic virtues. She doesn't allow dissent to be bogged down in a Crossfire-style shoutfest, and neither is her method too coy or sardonic, a la Stewart (whom I enjoy greatly, but we cannot live by jesters alone). She can confront without affront.

We here know that Buchanan is an ass that believes things that defy reality. Most of the people in this country don't have the time, energy, or interest to find out what this tool stands for. Rachel goes against Buchanan to show what an idiot he is, and she does a pretty good job.

It might be painful to watch, but think of all those less informed people that might realize they've been sold a bag of shit. I listen to Thom Hartmann and he regularly has these right-wing tools on.
