Sue the Media
At time I feel people should be able to sue the news media. This is not that much of an important thing, but I think people should be able to sue the news media over the daylights savings time issue. For some time the media made a big deal about how daylights savings time was coming early and computers would not or might not be able to handle the situation. I did not worry about it because I had already read a post here at DU that mentioned that even if a person's computer did not turn over automatically they could just manually change the time.

Well as we all know yesterday was the first day of the early daylights savings time. I actually forget to change the clocks and watches in my residence. However, there was something that did not forget; it was my computer. I woke up yesterday and when I finally went to the computer I was a little surprised to find that my computer had already change the time itself.

I feel sorry for all those people (if they exist) who rushed out to buy the Vista system in order to have their computer turn over automaticlly. The media was constantly telling people about their computers and how Microsoft had a solution for the problem. How many people did not realize that they did not need Vista or anything else Microsoft put out in order to fix their computer? I seriously want to sue the media. I did not lose any money, but it just upsets me that they made such a big deal out of this and it was less than nothing.

1. This Has To Be One Of The Most Strangely Inaccurate Threads I've Ever Seen.
In fact, I'm racking my brains even trying to figure out how on earth you mistook what the media was saying as a statement of 'you must buy Vista' instead. They said no such thing and I can't help but laugh at your 'sue the media' premise.

3. Don't Know What You Saw, But
Edited on Mon Mar-12-07 05:03 PM by erpowers
I do not know what you say but were I am the media talked about how some computer might not flip over due to the early change. In fact on Friday and Saturday the local media said that computer might not be prepared for the early change, but Microsoft along with Vista could or would fix the problem. The local media actually mentioned Vista in dealing with the time problem. As I said it did not cause me any problems in any way, but the media should not go around scaring the crap out of people by making something out of nothing. The local media in my area made something out of nothing. That is what I am upset about.

In addition, I did not say anything about the media telling people to buy Microsoft Vista. Also, I point out that people may not have gone out and gotten Vista to fix their system. If you read my post correctly I wrote "I feel sorry for those people (if they exist) who went out and bought Microsoft Vista in order to fix their computers." My main point always was the fact the media acted like the computer time issues was a major problem. I can image that some people who heard computer time issues and Microsoft Vista in the same sentence and did not realize they could just change their computer themselves went out and bought the system. However, that was not really the main point. The main point was that I am a little upset at how the media at times blows small issues up into hugh issues.

2. I would rather sue the media over calling the election for bush in 2000 and 2004.
