Just saw Dana on CNN and over the weekend the story had some play but in every interview there was NO MENTION of PRIVATIZATION being one of the biggest problems at Walter Reed.
There was a post on DU this a.m. about the Veterans Administration being urged to Contract Out the Health Care of these Vets. Especially the ones with Brain Injuries who could be placed in "homes" that care for Brain Injured people.
So...If you think if Bill Frist's Health Care Groups running Vets Care...then you get what's going on.
Priest won't even mention the downsizing so that there were so few taking care of these Vets at Walter Reed and throws the issue off on "management and Generals" when the real story is Bushies going to start with the VETS for Private Care to make his Repug Buddies more $$$$$$$$$'s and the REST of us will FOLLOW when they push all Medicare and the Rest of Americans to be forced into HMO Type Groups that will screw our care while the CEO's and Investors rake in the bucks.
We need to keep on top of this and watch it and keep writing our Reps over this. It's the "foot in the door" to getting rid of Medicare/SS and our own Health Insurance. Making the issue about the Vets is GOOD but what's behind that DARK DOOR that the Press WILL NOT TOUCH!

2. You are saying that both CNN and MSNBC said VA is going to Outsource Vet's Care? |
|
Whoa...I'm sorry I missed that. They did an investigation about Privatization?

3. No, they talked about the existing privitization ahead of the 2011 proposed closing at WRAMC |
|
and the fact that they hired something like 50 contractors to do the work of some 300 civilians on the old Army payroll.
