Here we go again VA research shows mental illnesses common among returning vets
Almost one-third of returning veterans who received health care at Veterans Affairs facilities between 2001 and 2005 were given mental health or psychosocial diagnosis according to a report in the March 12 issue of Archives of Internal Medicine, one of the JAMA/Archives journals.

3.  Is there anyway to contact these troops like John Shannon ?
The people who are going to DC on the 17th should focus on the Walter Reed vets rather on the pentagon .

At least if there were a way to contact some of these injured vets many could at least let them know they are thought of .

5. so many of the Guard have already lost their stateside jobs.
Now some will wind up in shelters and on the streets . . . like you say, for the cops to work over.

7. I read in WW2 they found some mental illness was caused by mal nutrition
and disease. I wonder if this is also to blame on the way the troops are being fed and treated, and that issue should be looked into as well with more scrutinization.
