10. It is amazing that they would all repeat even that lame-ass catch phrase.
I wonder if they lost their writer at the GOP headquarters?

12. I don't know the context it was said in
but after reading the real economic news from today
it seems like a talking point by the powers that be.

Damn, I'm such a panties ass.

LOL

8. Too bad about Chris Dodd.
During the big democratic candidate extravaganza, his was one of the few speeches that actually turned me on.

Although I considered him as not particularly brilliant and a bit naive, I liked his direct approach and lack of obvious triangulation. Unfortunately, this chance remark concerning whether or not he would go on and do the POX sponsored debate and his indication that he certainly would has put him in the too ill informed and naive to be prez category.

There are things that are destroying the country and POX Noise is one big one. I don't begrudge them their free speech, well, actually I do but it's necessary to afford them that right, but participating with them in in their quest would be both naive and stupid.
(Sigh) Another possible contender crossed off my list.

11. Well, I kind of gave him a break on it.
I don't know what they should say about it. Some people, o'reiley and some here on DU, and saying the candidates are pussies for not going on there and facing them down. Kucinich said that he was wanting to go on faux and have the debate, and was not happy when it was canceled. I think these guys are just wanting some air time and are willing to go anywhere to get it. I don't know, I was not impressed but I didn't really dislike him. He was just sort of bland. When he said he was a first time parent and had small children, that was the most interesting thing he said. Stewart, on the other hand, seemed to be trying to push him a little, maybe trying to help him out.

13. I don't think Dodd is particularly comfortable in the public eye.
He tends to go off course into inanities and wants to have a "conversation" with his audience, rather than using his opportunities for speech making as a way to rally people to his cause. Listeners are going to have a conversation going on in their heads, anyway, and cannot carry on the one from the podium as well; the time for that is at the question and answer period or at more private, personal gatherings.

It is, of course, only my opinion, but anyone to the left of Mussolini will not fare well with the big slime of POX. Deliberately exposing one's self to to that kind of rabid propaganda, with no redeeming value, is to deliberately choose to lose. Doing so does not demonstrate bravery or intellect, merely lack of good judgment and a sick love of attention, regardless of cost.
Dennis Kucinich, although a very smart man and of unquestionable bravery, is short on judgment, repeatedly endangering his political career and thereby his ability to affect public policy by choosing his battles unwisely in both time and circumstance. Such lapses limit his effectiveness to a level way below what it should be.

14. Strange, I actually felt pity for Sen. Dodd. I don't think that's a winning emotion...
Dodd seemed uncomfortable in what is probably one of the few softball interviews he's likely to get. I dunno why, he's a likable guy with a lot going for him, he should have really wacked that sucker as far as it would go. But he came up short

Stewart wasn't spoon-feeding him, to be sure, but he had every opportunity to show some genuine electoral positivity -- instead I came away with a sense of resignation to an inevitable steamrolling. Maybe others got a different sense, though.
