Am I a chickenhawk b/c I don't go down to my representatives office
and risk being arrested if I were to 'raise Cain' about Congress's abdication of their responsibilities with regard to holding the Executive branch 'in check'? Especially b/c I believe/(know?) that most members of Congress might be being threatened/black-mailed or perhaps told in no uncertain terms that they will be 'unelectable' (campaign money spigot is turned off) if they don't give in to the pressures of bringing THE PERCEPTION of jobs/money/projects to their state.

I feel like a coward in a certain way, that I don't do more (although I've done some)....this BEAST that we're fighting is just so HUGE and deeply entrenched, it's not fear that keeps me from doing more really....it's just that I'm not sure what really helps to fight against this evil pox on our country anymore.

Peace,
M_Y_H

1. AND "the good guys" just did exactly what AIPAC wanted them to do!
The Dems. stripped the Congressional approval for any military action against Iran language out of the appropriations bill.

:grr: Fucking chickenshits! :grr:

2. As in "Pilate washes his hands?"
(this isn't direct at YOU, of course.....I'm just as outraged, appalled, disbelieving as you and many of us who put so much faith in our Dem Congress). Those 'good guys' aren't really so 'good' or stout-hearted as we'd like to believe OBVIOUSLY.

3. Actually, I do think it IS ALL of us, so I think it is appropriate for each
of us to talk about how it DOES apply to me. But we need to do that without attacking one another, so thank you for being careful about how your words affect me!

We created this situation. I'm learning to be honest about what the situation is. Yesterday I learned that the Democrats are not what I thought they are. They *indeed* DO regard the People as a means to some end, rather than the ends themselves. Clearly Republicans and Democrats are two sides of the same coin, neither would exist without the other.

Now, how can I change myself in a manner that brings pressure on individual persons, at whatever level, to change themselves, so that, eventually, the WHOLE thing changes?

My answer to that question, at this point in time, is to seriously study Dennis Kucinich and perhaps become more active on his behalf.
