CNN front page poll reveals Bush's base...question - "would a drawdown
of US forces in Iraq invite more attacks in the US>

Yes - 32%
No - 68%

Latest Bush approval rating - the hardcore, the hang-in-theres, the true nut cases - 32%
Bush disapproval rating - the original 10% club (likely most of us here), as well as the flip floppers who've, for various reasons, woken up over the years - 68%

That pretty much defines things. The Fear-Obsessed vs the sane and well-adjusted!

1. There is a well noted 32% +/- that will support Bushco NO MATTER WHAT
Bush could drive Jenna to a clinic, perform the abortion then eat the fetus and he would still have the 32% support level, I am convinced. There is just this floor of support he just can't fall through any further.

2. I subscribe to your hypothesis, with one exception, to wit:
The one thing that Bush could do that would lose him his thirty, without doubt, would be if he started acting like the "Christian man of god" he claims to be and stated doing "liberal" things.
That sucker would be impeached sooooo fast!

11. That would do it quick
If he announced plans to feed the hungry, house the homeless, give medical care for all, they desert him fast and flood the house and senate with howls for impeachment.

4. Upon seeing him eat a fetus
they'd just say he must have been pretty hungry.

5. Good frickin' gawd!
That's worse than my premise of * caught on videotape molesting make-a-wish kids in a bathroom in disneyworld. Or sodomizing the remains of the late Pope John Paul II. You just know the bushbots would insist that Article II gave Bush implicit power to commit necrophilia with a pontiff in time of war.

8. What does that 32% figure translate into warm bodies?

I believe that the 32 percent figure is bunk. I believe it to be much lower just like everything else that this misadministration reports to us as facts.

Besides is that 32% of the voting public, general public, mouth breathers, neocons or special needs (deranged) cases?

10. I dunno...Sometimes I agree with you and sometimes I don't
I do subscribe to the old saying about never going broke betting against the public's intelligence.

After a long day dealing with the general public, sometimes I am ready to declare the 32% way too low for Bushbots. I get so crazy when I hear some regurgitated Faux News talking point, and it happens more than hearing enlightened statements displaying mastery of the subject matter or insight beyond what they are told.

3. Ah yes, the mysterious 30% of the population rears it's ugly head once more
Edited on Tue Mar-13-07 07:03 AM by ck4829
I've researched them before, I used to have a document on it, but it was on another computer.

But basically, this 30% number keeps popping up in the following:

People who believe Bill Clinton murdered 40+ people

People who think interracial marriage is wrong

And yes, they are Bush's core support

7. I don't think I could find 3 out of 10 people in my workplace
or on my street who thinks the war is a good idea or that Bush is doing a good job--and I live in Nebraska. WHERE does this mysterious 30% come from? The Meals-On-Wheels and assisted living crowd?
