If Hagel came out against the Iraq war and against the drug war
I would give him a look over. Ditto with Ghouliani. I hope that the dems have a serious contender from the left. I would lol if the GOP became more liberal then the DLC.

1. I would not.
Just vote for someone like DK (unless you can't vote in primaries for some reason).

3. Hagel in the loop, say as an Independent,
that would have the same effect as Nader did in 2000. That could be the GOP scheme of things.

6. A dream come true if he ran as an independent IMO (as long as
he pulled republican votes away, not democratic).

4. Remember Hagel talked so big on how wrong the war was
and then voted 'with his party' to continue the death, rapes and pillaging. They have the goods on him so a vote for Hagel is a vote for this war machine. Sorry!

7. I am looking for an anti-war machine candidate to vote for
anti drug war too. There will be at least three or four candidates on the NYS 2008 ballot that fit that description (green, reform, indy, mmp).

Of course whoever wins the dem nod will win all of nys electoral votes.

10. And you think Dame Rudy deserves consideration?!?
Why does a Bush loving warmonger deserve consideration when you are looking for an anti-war machine candidate?

That makes absolutely no sense.

8. Wow. Hagel thinks that Ben Nelson is too liberal
and railed on Nelson for voting to increase the minimum wage. So you would consider:
Dame Rudy, who LOVES Bush and the War in Iraq, claims he would nominate conservative, anti-choice supreme court nominees, etc.
and Hagel, a absolutely anti-labor, anti-choice, anti-environment, anti-gay, IWR voting conservative who is recently against the war.

What kind of Democrat are you?

11. anti-drug war dem
show me the money... my electoral vote will go to the dlc. my vote will be against the drug war.

I would support a viable anti-drug war candidate - party would not matter to me.

Again, the dem will always get my NYS electoral vote.

12. Then why don't you consider RIchardson
and instead of a warmonger like Dame Rudy and a rightwing nutjob like Hagel?

13. Yes. I like Richardson a great deal.
I doubt that anyone can beat Hillary Clinton though. I am pretty sure Bill Clinton will be America's First Man.

14. I live in the corporate universe
two parties, one corporation.

Either major party could support legalizing the leaf. The one with true courage and leadership will.

17. Hagel's supposed anti-war stance does not make him liberal
People here seem to get confused. Just because someone bashes Bush doesn't make them a Dem or a liberal, and opposition to the war does not make one a Dem or liberal. Especially now, since bashing Bush and opposing the war are not only acceptable, but are somewhat popular opinions to have.

20. Hagel just voted AGAINST the Feinstein amendment taking Gonzo's power away!
Hagel isn't to be trusted. Why the hell did he vote against taking that power out of the Patriot Act?

I don't trust Mr. ES&S as far as I can throw him.
