16. No, he didn't
I paraphrased Ron Ziegler's infamous remark to the White House press corps about the latest official version of events contrasting with past official versions of events concerning Watergate.

At best he's totally incompetent. He's a unethical conspirator. I want him under oath asap.

10. THis says more about the Bush WH than about Gonzales ... something bad is coming
Edited on Tue Mar-13-07 01:38 PM by Blackhatjack
When the evidence that is about to break is so bad that having Gonzales resign will not help, you can imagine what we are in for.

I will tell you I am worried about what is planned next, because having Gonzales resign was a given.... and it did not happen.

Something really bad that will take the focus off this must be in the pipeline.

13. I have a feeling that KKKarl got on the horn to someone
and said "Get Gonzo off the TV now". What a pathetic excuse for an Attorney General of the US..

Let the hearings under oath begin. This is on a par with the infamous Saturday Night Massacre, make no mistake. This man has no allegience to anyone or anything but GWB.

22. Here's one after looking over some of these docs myself ....
bold = Recommending retain strong US Attorneys who have produced, managed well and exhibited loyalty to the President and the Attorney General.
stikeout = Recommend removing weak US Attorneys who have been ineffectual managers and prosecutors chafed against Administration initiatives etc. -snip-

page 3 ....

http://judiciary.house.gov/media/pdfs/DOJdocsPt1070313.pdf

I don't know, sounds pretty 'political' to me. Okay it really sounds like a purge to me. Damn how I detest this administration. Peace.

32. Sorry but what does 'loyalty to the President' have to do with dispensing justice?
Could not make it more clear that they expected a political payback for allowing them to stay in their jobs.

This is so bad that it looks like preemptive interference in case one of the top dogs is facing possible indictment. YOu do not have to worry about being convicted of anything, if the US Attorney never indicts you.

THis is how it looks.

19. Show of hands please, How Many Think Gonzales Wrote That Speech?
He seemed awfully nervous, and his delivery was not very believeable.

No one asked the core question, "How can you be competent to run the office of AG if lyou were completely out of the loop and saw nothing in this matter? Why should we keep you in that position if you are so clueless?"

26. OK, Now I have to side with Krugman, I think this is the tip of the iceberg...
Those USAs not asked to resign may hold even more damaging information than those pushed out.

THis could be huge.

There really is no explaining what we just saw from Gonzales, unless things are a lot worse than we imagined.

Edited on Tue Mar-13-07 01:43 PM by higher class
If not Kg. Bush, it was Cheney? I thought Cheney just tended to war and death in the Middle East stuff, plus his business dealings - selling to Iran and others?

Seems he left the U.S. and Latin American for others to take care of (except maybe Venezuela and Boliva - oil and gas.
