Since when does acceptance of responsibility NOT include consequences?
Re Gonzalez, and all the other lying bastards in this maladministration, who blithely "accept responsibility" and then move on, continuing the same felonious behavior: why are they silent on the other side of the coin - acceptance of CONSEQUENCES??

They get a pass, year after year. All they do is make the token apology, saying the same sort of magic words as they do in church when they "accept Jesus Christ" as their personal savior.

They claim to be the Party of Personal Responsibility(TM), but I can't recall the last time that accepting responsibility actually resulted in any consequences or punishment whatsoever for them.

Is it me? Or is there something seriously wrong with this picture?

1. Since 2000 when there was a coup and the winner was kept out of ...
.... the White House.

After that we had 9/11 and attacked a country that had nothing to do with the
attack to look for weapons we knew were not there.

After bush calls a putting more air pollution in the air "Clean Skies."

After bush says he listens to the Generals and then ignores 'em.

After Oct 2004 when bush says that "they" always get a warrant
before bugging somebody's phone.

Down is up and good is bad. BTW Why do you hate America?

2. I had a Young Sailor working for me several years ago
Hard worker, squared away Sailor except he didn't have the foggiest idea of money management. He wrote two bad checks out in town on one weekend totaling $45.00. He got busted a paygrade and discharged from the Navy. Yo gonzo, that's taking responsibility.

3. Consequences have been missing
This is what we need to push for -- and not just a slap on the wrist and a pardon. These people are guilty of shredding our Constitution.

Our law enforcement seizes and sells ALL property from drug dealers. WHY has this NOT been applied to government officials that do MORE to screw with THOUSANDS of people on a daily basis?

And yes, that was a rhetorical question.

We need to DEMAND consequences that will devastate these people enough to get them to think TWICE before they ever pull this crap on us again. Want to lie us into a war, or take away rights? Let's see how you feel when EVERYTHING you own is taken from you. Toss them into jail and sell off EVERYTHING they have. Leave THEM with nothing.

4. At least Shumer is asking for Gonzo's resignation
If this would have happened last year there would have been silence on the Senate floor.

5. Since Reagan took "responsibility" for...
the marines in Beirut, but nothing happened.

Apparently, it's now enough to simply admit "responsibility" without admitting you're wrong. Or doing anything about it.
