2. No. IQ tests are useless.
However, they should be willing to take any standardized tests they make school children take, and post their answers publically.

3. IQ tests measure nothing except your ability to take IQ tests.
Consider this:

JFK's IQ was 117

Richard Nixon's IQ was 143

Are you suggesting Nixon should have been elected?

5. I started this poll tongue-in-cheek, but thought that the responses would be interesting
True, IQ tests are not completely reliable. However, the idea presented that they should take the test the children must take is very appropriate, & an excellent idea.

This is the stuff I was hoping DUer's would bring up.

6. No, a humane test and a polygraph.

13. GMTA
A polygraph should be the only required test for a potential presidential or vice-presidential candidate--that alone would reveal a great deal about ANY candidate, regardless of party.

7. Maybe just a CT scan of their head to make sure they have a brain?
Could have saved this world a lot of grief if they would have done that with Bush before 2000.

No. George W. Bush reportedly tested in the 120's. He is still an idiot.
Richard Nixon had a high IQ. He was bonkers as was crooked.

8. No, but candidates should be able to speak extemporaneously at length
about every major issue that affects the country. Candidates should know facts and figures and be able to clearly communicate their platform.

10. Better yet, make them pass a psych exam.
Screen out all the psychopaths and narcissists.

Gotta make it accurate and unable to be gamed. Maybe if antisocial personality disorder and narcissistic personality disorder could be screened using an MRI brain scan, or with a blood test, we can screen people out that way accurately.

11. Hate to break it to ya
but purportedly the idiot in chief actually had a brain before he did irreparable damage to it with cocaine and alcohol. He was an underachiever, but for many of us, that's normal.

I think the real test that should be administered--a simple, direct to the point test--should be a polygraph. That alone should give many politicians a bit of a pause before they plan anything.

12. IQ tests are racist
or rather, because of the culture we live in, the results are affected by race.

15. No...
Even psychologists will tell you that IQ tests do not predict how successful/unsuccessful someone may/may not be...

So, my answer is absolutely not.
