"I have been studying the political situation in this country for 5 years, ever since Bush decided to invade Iraq. And I mean studying - almost daily for 5 years. I've read letters, editorials, emails from the Republicans. I listen to the Republican pundits on the news shows every morning (although I admit I cannot stand Pat Buchanan's voice and sometimes have to turn him off because of that reason!). I also listen to the 3 (only 3!) progressive news program available on cable (MSNBC anyway) and to various radio shows (NEVER Limbaugh, however, I find him repellent, both in mind and soul). So, I believe that I am more up to speed on both sides of the issues than the average American walking about. Right now, it doesn't matter however, whether we are liberal or conservative. 28 years of deregulation in the banking industry, aided and abetted by the neo-conservatives, have nearly destroyed our economy. Our children and grandchildren will be paying back the debt we owe the Chinese and the Saudi's for decades to come. The "incentive" checks we all received this year were paid for by loans from the Chinese. The Chinese held a major stake in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and dropped the hammer on Washington when it looked like those institutions were about to fail. Google it if you don't believe me. Your best source of info is probably Canadian and British newspapers, the Toronto Sun and the Guardian UK are especially good. This is not conservative economic policy. You and I both are probably the most conservative in the family regarding money, (some might say tight as a drum?). You know that America couldn't continue to pour billions of dollars into Iraq and bail out all these organizations that find themselves in such horrible economic straits without having to "socialize" their rescue by having the taxpayers come to the rescue again, just like they had to do with the savings and loans in the 80's. I'm mad as hell at their irresponsible, greedy behavior. I've done everything right in my own life, never asked the government for a dime of help, worked my ass off, saved money, bought a responsible mortgage that has only seven years to go and now I'm having to pay for the mistakes of the "Masters of the Universe", as the overwhelmingly Republican Wall Street titans like to call themselves? They can, pardon my French, bite my lily white ass. Love ya"
