General Pace is right, well sort of
I was a damn good liar at one point in my life. I was a good enough liar that when I finally told the truth about myself a couple of my friends were convinced I had to bisexual instead of gay. I invented girlfrieds, invented breakups, invented the whole nine yards. And yes, the lying was, on several levels immoral. So Pace is right, at times, homosexuality can lead to immorality. Unfortunately his prescription only seems to make it worse.

To be called immoral by an appointee of Bush is a truely bizarre experience. It is like being called tacky by Charo, a flip flopper by Mitt Romney, or bigotted by Ann Coulter. I just don't know what to say. Of course, it should be clear that immorality would be a ludricrious standard for determining who should serve in the military. I mean, hasn't Pace watched MASH? Doesn't swearing like a sailor mean something? Didn't solders have to sit through VD lectures?

I think of many things when I think of soldiers. Sexual morality, not really.

7. I'm thinking of the Sacred Band of Thebes and the Spartan Army
when someone says homosexuals don't belong in the military. I guess they never heard of Thermapolae and a few other battles that live on after two thousand plus years.
