10. good point!
I remember when he testified before a judicial hearing a couple of months ago and Diane Feinstein was trying to get him to give specific information. He kept saying the attorneys were fired because of minor personnel problems.

Now that he has stated that is not the case, they have plenty of ammunition to nail him with his own testimony!! Just like Scooter......

How do you solve a problem like Alberto
(one nun at a time)

He climbs a tree
And scrapes his knee

His shirt has got a tear

He waltzs on his way to mass
And whistles on the stair

And underneath his wimple
His has curlers in his hair!

I've even heard him singing in the abbey

He always late for chalpel,

But his penitence is real

He's always late for everything

Except for every meal

I hate to have to say it but I very firmly feel

(all together)
Alberto's not an asset to the abbey

(one nun)
I'd like to say a word in his behalf:
Alberto makes me laugh

(all nuns laugh)

(all nuns)
How do you solve a problem like alberto?
How do you catch a cloud and pin it down?
How do you find a word that means alberto?

(one nun at a time)
A flibbertajibbit?

A will of a whisp

a clown

Many a thing you know you'd like tell him
Many a thing he ought to understand

But how do you make him stay?
And listen to all you say

how do you keep a wave upon the sand?

Oh how do you solve a problem like Alberto?
How do you hold a moon beam in your hand?

When I'm with him
I'm confused
Out of focus
And bemused
And I never know exactly where I am

(one nun at a time)
Unpredictable as weather

He's as flighty as a feather

He's a darling

He's a demon

He's a lamb

He'd out pester any pest
Drive a hornet from its nest

He can throw a twirling dervish out of whirl

He is gentle
He is wild

He's a riddle
He's a child

He's a headache

He's an angel

He's a gonzo!!

etc

Get the POS under oath first in the Congress AND then the criminal court (perjury and obstruction of justice).

33. I think it's also a wise idea for Dems to start floating names for his replacement...
I'd like an "approved list" for Bush to select from. He should get the message that everything he does moves through the majority party now, or it doesn't happen.

34. The Dems should put forward this guy....
James B. Comey, the former Acting Attorney General who appointed Fitzgerald as Special Counsel investigating the the Plame outing. We know he is an honest man who DOES serve the American people over and above politics and the WH.

I'd tend to agree. He's one of the few Republicans with the experience and credibility to pass proper Dem scrutiny.

37. let him twist in the wind
Let Conyers and Leahy at him in Committee hearings. Subpoenas, etc. Make him testify under oath. Bush will eventually be forced to fire him.

Impeachment would tie up the House when it's got more important things to deal with. And it would still have to go through the Senate. That's one of the reasons it's so rarely used - it's just too time consuming. That's why it's only been done 18 times in our entire history, and only once for a cabinet official.

38. If we are going to reverse all that's been done in any lasting fashion...
we are going to have to prosecute and imprison, finishing the job that should have been done after BCCI.

There's no avoiding this and the sooner we start and get used to the idea of breaking up Bush's political machine and the infrastructure that supports it, the better. It's time for Democrats to start to control the process overtly and get used to taking the bull by the horns and making things happen on their own terms, rather than allowing republicans to control the agenda or implode on their own.

It'll be good for Democrats to re-learn assertive governance in any case, if for no other reason than to insure a victory in '08 is properly leveraged and not hijacked as it was in the 90's.

39. great article, thanks for linking...
Dean could be right in that going after the smaller fish before going after Bush and Cheney is the best strategy.

Still, if the WH sees an impeachment coming, I'm sure they'll make the AG step down before it gets there. The fact that he hasn't yet is a good thing, IMO. The longer this stays hot in the news, the better.

But, even a resignation wouldn't be a bad thing - Gonzo is one of the main lines of defense for the Bush junta. With Dem control of the Senate, they won't be able to get a Bush "yes" man in there to protect them for the next 2 years.

So true.

And I agree that a resignation wouldn't be a bad thing - for once almost all the options open to Democrats are good ones.

How nice it is to say that for a change.
