That sounds impressive, but I know nothing about how someone gets nominated, and how much of an accomplishment that is (or isn't). Can anyone explain?

we'll see how he works his strategy. he does have both domestic and international credentials but I don't think he's much liked by the super lefties (as Skinner put it) - especially the "there should be no such thing as borders" crowd.

Note that the foundation itself only reveals nominations after 50 years; the only other people who can have said he was nominated is the nominator themselves. If they haven't given the reasons for repeatedly nominating him, then it's not that impressive - fools do things like nominating Bush.
