A Little Rant About Veterans and the American People
Tonight I speak to you not as a vet but as a human being. The Veterans Issues to me are important. But people all over this Country are falling into the cracks. Older people are moving back in with their families because they are losing their homes. Health Care is just plain not there. I have in my job working with vets have seen the horror of the homeless. I have seen line waiting for food at the food banks. People are losing their jobs everyday. The rich don't care. I love my Country I bled for her. But this my Brothers and Sisters is not my Country. You speak up your called names or worse. The Far Right is a danger to us and the world. People we put in office are not keeping their promises. The deaths of our troops and the Iraqi people is unforgivable. When is this going to stop? End of Rant I just needed to let this out.

1. I hear you, many of us do
And we all are in tears. This U.S. government no longer represents the wishes, the heart, or the soul of the American people.

The right wing fringe took over. One good thing about that is they all believe in hell, and that's where they are headed. May they await that.

4. I hear what you are saying Monkeyman!
The last six years have been a terror for any individual capable of empathy. I have never been in the military but I feel the pain of those who have given for this country and had the door slammed in their faces by those they have served. I wonder why all Americans are not livid about the way soldiers, vets and their families are treated. I can not understand the greed and selfishness of the majority of Americans. Believe me, many are working to get the answers and stop this madness. I am afraid that we will ride this train to the edge before people wake up to the nightmare that has been created. Even though I believe this, I do not stop working toward the goal of getting our troops home and making sure that they get the services needed to put their lives back together. Peace on earth, Kim

5. I'm bordering on disillusionment myself.
I could smell the trouble the minute the words "impeachment is off the table". It was at that point I realized Americans were on their own and thus no more illusions of self government.

6. I know Monkeyman
I was lucky during Vietnam. The Army sent my lowly draftee ass to Washington after basic training. Not such good fortune for some of my friends.

One died in the VA from Agent Orange complications. Another has diabetes, cancer, and other associated health care problems caused by Agent Orange. Both of his kids, born in the 70s, have died from cancer. He can't get any help. He is 58, two years younger than me, and looks 88. The same shit is happening now. A third buddy is in the VA psycho ward. This country is sooooo fucked up...
