Mayan Priests Head for Washington D.C.
What a special way to end the evening...to read a blog by a couple of Lutherans about Congress summoning Mayan Priest to DC. Wonderful satire.

A Couple of Lutherans

After a successful cleansing of the ancient Mayan site of Iximche, visited by president Bush and his wife Laura on their recent Guatemalan visit, Congress has invited the same priests to come to the United States to perform a similar ritual at the nationals capital.

In a rare display of unity, leaders from both parties embraced the idea as potentially helpful in ridding the halls of Congress and the White House of evil spirits.

"It's clear, given the recent scandals of Walter Reed, the firing of the Federal prosecutors, Generals out of touch with reality, and the untimely demise of Anna Nicole Smith, warrant this action," stated Democratic whip Howard Dean.

Dean went on to say it was a long shot, but with the economy going into the toilet, gas prices rising, and the uncertainty of the upcoming NCAA basketball tournament rankings, that the time was right for a spiritual cleansing of sorts. Officials say that if the priests are successful, they will be granted a permanent work Visa.

A video and audio are listed also. Very clever work.

1. This is sad actually . . .
. . . that it's satire. D.C. could certainly use the real thing.

2. Damn I was hoping this was true.
Sigh. I don't think bush would tolerate being in the same room as a Mayan priest. He'd run away shielding his face hissing like a vampire from the brightness of the Jaguar Sun.

And this cat would be saying Hail to Chiliam Balaam! Great Jaguar, catch him in your mighty claws and rip his evil heart out for all to see on TV..(expose him) ..I'd be grabbing and lighting up the sage in the Great Jaguars name so fast my eyes glued to CSpan..And like usual later that night I'd realize and be pissed that I didn't get to videotape it.

3. Mayan priests should open a branch office in DC.
Seriously, I hope we can get some of these guys to show up at a rally in the US.
