Slogan for Al Gore...."IMAGINE!"
Edited on Thu Jan-25-07 06:41 PM by KoKo01
I'd love this if it hadn't been thought up by Repug Pollster, Frank Luntz! But, that said, Luntz did diss the Democrats slogan for Mid-Terms of "Together We Can Do Better" and it seems the Dems listened because I didn't hear that slogan much before the Mid-Terms which we one. Pelosi's "100 Hours" turned out to work along with public disapproval on Iraq.

Anyway...here's quote from "Rolling Stone" article on Gore of comment by Luntz which isn't half bad...if one thinks about it, because when I think of Gore...I do think of "IMAGINE" and ALL THE POSSIBILITIES for the FUTURE of AMERICA!

QUOTE FROM LUNTZ in ARTICLE:

As the campaign heats up over the next six months, Gore will remain very much in the public eye. In February, he'll be up for an Oscar for An Inconvenient Truth May, he will publish a new book, The Assault on Reason, and in July he is planning a series of concerts to raise awareness about global warming.

But Gore's greatest appeal may come, ultimately, from what he represents to voters fed up with two terms of the Bush administration. "He'll be able to make the case that he should have been president already," says Carrick. "And that had he been president, things would have been a lot different, with the Iraq war being Exhibit A."

This, agrees Luntz, is Gore's greatest draw. "Democratic voters in 2008 are not only looking to turn back the last eight years, but to erase the last eight years," he says. "If I were working for Gore, I'd message around a single word: Imagine. 'Imagine if I'd been president instead of George W. Bush. Imagine where we'd be today.'"

1. "Imagine" has too many John Lennon implications
So there should be a word that conveys the same meaning but doesn't have the same baggage.

Luntz isn't pulling for Gore or any Dem so his advice is shit.

6. Not a damn thing.
Imagine is a perfect slogan for a Gore campaign.

He's a visionary, and not just on climate change.

8. Good points...Luntz wanting to associate Gore with John Lennon
and figuring we'd fall for it...But, I still think it sounds good...because that's what I think about when I think about Gore...IMAGINE! He may be a lousy politician (even though he was elected many times and served as VP for 8 years) but he might be a NEW Vision for how Politicians SHOULD BE and not how they have been.

5. "I Need To Wake Up"
Edited on Thu Jan-25-07 06:47 PM by mentalsolstice
The title of the theme song from "An Inconvenient Truth", by Melissa Etheridge. Maybe she could re-release it with the title "We Need To Wake Up", it would make for a great slogan and campaign tune.
