Does allowing politicians to appoint U.S. attorneys compromise the judicial system?

1. I'm a bit shocked by the 11% -- I expected higher.
If Bush has a 30% approval rating, I'd expect the same percentage of sheep to believe that as long as Bush is making the appointments, political appointments of US attorneys is a grand idea.

2. I'm looking at the history of U.S attorney appointments,,,,
and, correct me if I'm wrong, but before *bush and company took the throne, the system worked just fine. I say, hold the criminals to the fire. It is not the appointment system that failed.
